Dave Newton’s Laws of Employee Motion

Sir Isaac Newton developed three laws of motion that were important to our scientific progress for three centuries.   Dave Newton, one of the principals of Hospitality Resources, has developed three laws of employee motion.  If your employees are not moving in the right direction, or are moving too slowly, or aren’t moving together as a team, you can look to these three laws to develop a strategy for improvement.

These form the foundation of our approach to leadership and human resources.

1.  People want to be seen as being important.

2.  People feel important when their employer involves them, when their employer treats their job as being important, when their employer cares about their needs and goals, and when they have pride in their employer.

3.  The Law of Reciprocal Importance: There is a direct relationship between how important an employee feels at work and how much the employee cares about helping achieve the employer’s goals.
