Team Building

Hospitality Resources uses a team building approach based on survey feedback.  We can facilitate the process for you or we can teach you the process for internal use.

Survey feedback is an effective way to open up communication in a group, providing the group has a skilled facilitator.  It becomes clear which issues are seen as most needing improvement by most team members.  Normally, employees may be hesitant to voice concerns to their manager for fear of repercussions or of being perceived as being negative.  However, when discussing survey results the group is focused on problem solving.  The survey identifies issues and everyone in the group can participate in sharing ideas for improving the team’s effectiveness.

Because there is full group participation in identifying issues and developing action plans, there is a greater degree of commitment and less resistance to the changes that come out of the team building.

This process is simple and requires only a half-day, but it is powerful and provides leaders and team with:

  • a clear understanding of the team’s strengths and areas for improvement.
  • a process that leads to consensus about the top priorities for the team to focus on.
  • clear action plans with high degrees of employee commitment to improve in the areas that have been identified as priorities.
